The Vision is brought to you by American Affordable Aircraft.
It is an economical, 2 seat, all composite aircraft that is built from PROVEN
construction manuals. DESIGNED FOR FIRST TIME BUILDERS, this rugged performer
had a prototype airframe cost of less than $6000.00
While raw material costs have risen in the last years this still represents
the best value for product available. Each of the sub-assemblies cost less
than $500.00 on the prototype. This is a plane that can actually be financed
with a credit card if desired. It is being constructed by first time
builders to test the construction manuals and no construction manuals were
sold until testing of the prototype. There are currently many under construction.
The plane is all composite with no incompatible wood understructure and uses
NO fuel susceptible styrene foams.
This is a plans built plane with supplemental parts. This means you can build
it from our detailed manuals and raw materials or you can purchase pre formed
parts from us and speed up the process. The Vision is the only all composite,
plans built, 2 seat sport aircraft that uses a conventional - non canard- platform.
In these days of company instability a person
is careless if they don't get enough to finish a plane when they start. There
have been several kit aircraft that have left people high and dry with a partial
project started. The Vision addresses those concerns by being a plans built
aircraft with optional parts. If you choose to look at the plane like a kit
plane and buy pre-molded assemblies you still don't have to worry about whether
the plane can be completed if those parts are no longer available. This sport
was built on plans built aircraft and they are still the safest bet.
DO NOT BUY ANY PLANE UNLESS YOU CAN GET
THE PLANS FOR IT. This simple lesson should not have to be repeated
as often as it is in the sport aircraft movement but if you don't have the plans
and the company goes away you have a very expensive lawn ornament. Think about
that and tell your friends to think about it when they are about to spend their
hard earned money. There are several planes out there to choose from that offer
plans with supplemental parts.

This is Sean Ponsonby's Serial #0002 plane. He is one of several
Beta Builders who took on early construction of the Vision to prove the plans
BEFORE they went on sale to the public. The prototype was built FROM the construction
manuals as his is. There are a a growing number moving along right now. Sean's
plane was entirely fabricated in a two car garage, This was the
first assembled rollout.
The construction of the Vision is the composite method that is
usually only used in pre-formed kits. There is NO
HOT WIRING of fuel susceptible foams and there is not the associated
weight. There IS a FULL sandwich skin on both sides and not the simple outer
fiberglass surface that is used on several other planes. Yet it is still done
without any molds.
Brian Ehrler is 6'7" and 245 lbs. How does he fit in a Vision? Just
take a look !
Brian's plane incorporates the 44" cockpit modification that most builders
are doing and a 1" raise on the turtledeck. Try modifying most pre-formed
kits like that!
The difference is obvious.
Here is a comparison we are
frequently asked about.
This is the same 6'3" person
in the Vision prototype and in a smaller wood structured plane.
